the corn, &c. yet those precepts of agriculture are not therefore oracles of equal certainty* with the articles of faith. XV. But supposing that those axioms of reason, concerning which we have treated, be found true and certain, and previously wrought by God himself in us through the medium of reason, seeing truth cannot be contrary to truth, so neither is God to himself; consequently it follows that God never makes known any thing to man by supernatural revelation, which is repugnant to self-evident
